I need stories about how art has affected someone?

It doesn't have to be a painting. Maybe music, photagraphy, drama, a movie, flower arrangements, etc.

I need stories about how art has affected someone?
I just wanted to tell you that you have made a lovely question.

I am a drama teacher. i teach in an elementary school and most of my students are high risk (one of the parents is in jail, some are foster children, many have divorced parents). I wish you could see their faces when i give them a script and begin to rehearse a play. they are so happy. they are transformed from an unhappy child to an aspiring artist. Arts in general are very beneficial, for everybody. arts provide solace for the soul.
Reply:My husband who I married 3 1/2 yrs. ago, is an artist of 30 years. I was not into art much at all, now I love art. I have found out that I can create in many mediums, such as, sculpting with clay, painting, and stained glass to name a few and my life is so much more full because of it. When we are creating at the same time it is so pleasurable, almost like sex, we are so close because of it. It feels good to discuss your creations with someone and to get their critique, as well as their compliments. Art has changed my life for the better and I now work at a youth art and media center, I am very lucky to have found my wonderful artist husband.
Reply:I will if you email me and ask me. I don't want to say it on here. Art is something that makes me happy. It gives me a alley to express myself. My art is not with paints or music or photagraphy or drama or flower arrangements, it is nothing that you have said. My art is something that means a lot to me.
Reply:I love to draw cartoon characters. I was at a hospital with my children and was told of a young boy- about 12 years old who loved dragons. I didn't have any dragons so I drew a picture of the alladin genie and took it to him in the intensive care unit. I told him that it was his personal genie, that he would help him through the hard times. He smiled and thanked me. A couple hours later, a nurse came and told me the boy had passed away just a few minutes ago and he had his genie with him. I now try to take my cartoon drawings with me anytime I go to the hospital and give them to children that are sick or having a hard time with thier treatment. It brings smiles to thier faces and gives me joy.
