A coworker has been out sick for a couple weeks now. We want to get him something nice but aren't sure what exactly to get. He's male, so we're not sure if he'll like a flower arrangement. And he's recovering from a nasty stomach virus, so a basket of fruit or chocolates probably won't go over too well either.
Any suggestions?
What do I get an ill coworker?
You could send him a "Get Well Soon" ballon bouquet, with a nice card. A regular plant, like a peace lily, could be appreciated by a male as well as a woman.
Reply:Nothing speaks louder to a man than a simple card with genuine prayers or well-wishes written in them. They also don't mind a single flower - since he's had a virus - a soup basket with puddings added or jello might be a big hit - these are all things that he can eat, are practical, and aren't hard on the stomach. They also have a tendency to enjoy joke cards more so than women - but not make fun of you jokes - include some of his work to be done lists and a deadline that has already gone by or something of that nature - we took a picture of a guys empty work area once and said "are you going to fill it or do we need to be ... oh never mind, we're just ready for you to come back ... and we're sure you are too! He thought that was great! We had blown up into an 8x10 and everyone signed on the photograph -
Reply:A doctor.
Reply:A gift certificate to a movie / music store
Reply:some pepto bismal just in case their stomach is upset
Reply:Some homemade soup would be good with some nice bread. Or if you dont cook maybe a get well basket with soup and bread starter kits and wooden spoon. He could make it when he is up and moving around. Even if he doesnt cook I am sure it would be appreciated.
Or maybe if he is a joker get him a pillow with the words "Are you ever gonna get up?" or something. You can find iron on prints and sayings that look like emrodery all over now. So that would be easy.
Reply:Has he got an interest or hobby you could get him a really nice book/s about?
Reply:A card that says "Get Well Soon"
