where should it be put in the table? what is the proper proportion of the height of the arrangement with the table? and what is the proper height if its for a centerpiece or etc. ?
What is the proper measurement of the height of the flower arrangement in relation to the with of the table?
I think the main thing to keep in mind is just to make sure that people can see and talk to each other without having to lean around the flowers or peer over them. Usually I try to keep it smallish and low, and just set it in the center of the table.
Reply:The flower arrangement should be in proportion with the container not the table. Formal arrangements used to be 1 and 1/2 x's the hight of the vase, urn or ewer. There doesn't seem to be a stead fast rule any longer.
However, centre pieces should always permit for easy eye contact between people, so no one should have to look arround the arrangement to see another person. Also, bear in mind how the table is being set and permitting room for dishes, etc.
Sometimes a tiny vase or old perfume bottle with a single flower or rose bud in front of each person will work very well.
Have fun.
Reply:Are you speaking of an arrangement on a dining table? Here's some interesting charts:
