I been dating my gf for close to 2 months and Its my first ever pay check from work and I am planning to spend it all on the most important people to me... One of them being my gf. I plan on sending her flowers at work since she knows that I have never gave anyone gifts and It will be my first.... So I have come up with the following arrangements...
6 white roses - showing that I care
5 roses - friendship
1 red rose - love
Purpose is that I want her to know that I care of her and will be there for her... and with the friendship and trust that we have... love will surely come.... which really is what our current situation is like....
What do you guys think about this arrangement and idea?

I am making crafts at home do i need a business license to take my crafts to a craft show and sell them.?
First i think it depends on where you are located and the craft show you are attending though it does sound like you want to sort of start a craft business so it follows that you could register your business and just start off small as a home based business search on the internet on how to register your business and also visit a tax consultant and your local chamber of commerce. They will have listings for shows and will also advice you about registering your business because even if you do decide to go the ebay way or a website eventually you may have a fully fledged business.
Wishing you success

Any unique ideas for homemade centerpieces?
I really want to stay away from the typical flower arrangement. It has nothing to do with costs, but my fiance and I are just crafty people and we really want to make something cool. We were thinking of using photographs in some way, any ideas on what to do? This is a very formal, white tablecloth style, so it needs to be elegant but unique

Here are some interesting centerpieces that I have seen using photographs. I think that it is a really neat idea - and it's something the guests can look at and enjoy...

Reply:I have no idea how much this would cost, or how much time it would take, but your mentioning using photographs made me think of it. Get a picture of the two of you together - if you don't have one of you in your wedding clothes, just use a close-up face shot of the two of you looking into each others eyes. Go to Hobby Lobby or wherever and find the goo that you can use to do photo transfers onto glass or ceramics. Maybe use a simple glass vase and put the picture on the side - one on every table, with a small bouquet; or on a tiny dish you can put at each place setting with a mint or whatever in it. This can be your "party favors". Add a line something like "Thank you for joining us in celebrating our union." or whatever.
Reply:Well if you want to use photos you could try using photos of the 2 of you growing up. You could even make them look more elegant by making them black and white or antiqued. You could use Gimp or photo shop to do this and it does not take much time at all.
You could put several pictures in small frames surrounding a glass bowl with floating candles to illuminate the photos.
Just one of many ideas you will receive.
Good luck on your special day!

We glued them around the castle %26amp; sprinkled glitter on them. We also put our engagment picture on the front %26amp; topped the tips of the castle with small plastic doves we got at a craft store.
We made a base for the castle to sit on as well that we put fake flowers around. They came out beautiful %26amp; were well worth our hard work!! I got sooo many compliments on them! All my guests fought over who was taking them home lol. I made sure to steal one for myself that I still have %26amp; cherrish now!!
Reply:I had to skip the flowers because calla lilies are not in season in my country for my wedd. date :( So I decided to make this one instead: 3 round mirrors for the base, with tealights and acrylic diamonds scattered around. The centerpiece sits on the center of the mirrors and is a set of three boxes (large, med, small) covered in satin fabric and bows to coordinate with my wedding colors. Hanging from the ceiling (fish line) oval chandelier pendants and tiny white flowers. It looks so gorgeous!

Reply:Here is what we did...I found a bunch of love sayings that we like, typed them up all pretty and framed them. We had 11 tables, 3 frames per table from the dollar store is $33. Many people commented on them, and a lot of them were taken home with the guests.
A cousin, in an email to me, came up with a great love saying. We added it to our list, placed it on her table. It made her mother cry because it touched them so much.
Reply:I wanted to use antique old books stacked unevenly - 3 to a table, with a single rose set horizontally on top. Does not fit my theme unfortunately as it is lovely and cheap, you can buy books at goodwill and other thrift stores or craigslist or ebay in bulk.
Reply:Oh I loved Chesney's centerpiece...
Basically a rose submerged in a small vase with a candle floating on top. Very elegant.
Another one I saw was having mini weddign cakes on each table, or even wedding cake toppers as centerpieces. I think it would be cool to get toppers from antique stores.
Reply:You can cover a vase with your color cloth, and put the picture on it with a glue gun, then add ribbon around the picture to act as a frame. Out of the top of the vase can be your flower. Be creative and have fun.
Reply:I used flat mirrored candle holders with one huge candle pillar surrounded by tiny candles and rose petals sprinkled about. The candles were lit.
Or could just use a vase of roses with a photo album propped up against it. Target sells really nice sterling silver plated albums.

What are appropriate decorations for a gravesite?
I live too far from some loved ones' graves to visit regularly with fresh flowers. Nothing is allowed to be planted or placed on the ground because it gets in the way of the lawnmowing.
I have used silk flower arrangements, but am wondering if there is an alternative to silk flowers, which just end up in landfills when they fade.
Thank you.
What are appropriate decorations for a gravesite?
In some of the cemeteries in which we have loved ones, they allow wreathes to be placed. But some of the others only allow items that can fit into a small vase. In those, we often place flags and have found the nylon ones last longer than the natural fiber ones.
Reply:My baby is buried about 300 miles away. Silk flowers get sort of raggedy pretty quickly. . . with plastic flowers, you will need to call a florist to find out which colors fade the least. I don't get to visit often either. Sorry for your loss . . . Blessings.
Reply:If there is a grave stone, why not paint a mural on it?
Reply:A little bonsai tree - it's durable. in some cultures people were buried under trees or trees were planted at their headstones. to give them shade in the afterlife. even in the cultural angle is not for you - its a beautiful thing to do for someone you love, that is symbolic of a continuation rather than an ending.
Reply:A plaque with a picture of flowers carved in it. Durable and small enough not to get in the way.

How many different flower arrangements can be made 2 bases,3types of flowers,5 colors of ribbon,10 misc. decor
2 bases, 3 typers of flowers, 5 colors of ribbon, and 10 types of miscellaneous decoration.

10 combinations there, for each ribbon color = 50 combinations
for each type of flower = 150 combinations
but really you can combine types of flowers (1, 2, 3, 1+2, 1+3, 2+3) so for each type of flower is really 250 combinations.
Then you have 2 bases so 500 combinations.

I live in Georgia, leaves are falling for fall season, I collect leaves and such for flower arrangements , ran across a strang cacoon type thing and something is inside. you can feel it and hear it but is
very fragile, it is made from a leaf shaped like a "?date?" {nut" maybe? can someone help me with this, I love nature but am frightful of what may be lurking inside but quiet curious.

Sounds like a Luna moth. When it comes out of the cocoon is sole purpose is to mate..It will not even have a mouth. The wings will be very brittle for a few hours.

I would like to know the names of florists that sale xmas silk flowers?
If you live in the U.S. or Canada, Walmart sells such material at very reasonable prices. I have found any seasonal floral arrangement material like that (Christmas, spring, fall) sold at Walmart to be of excellent quality, equal to if not better than the higher priced materials sold in flower shops.

Los Angeles Flower District - How to order?
I heard people getting bulks of flower at the LA Flower District for cheap. I was there two weeks ago and bought some flowers to practice making bouquets for my Wedding November 08. I love the results and plan to do all the floral arrangements and bouquet for my wedding.
How do I come about ordering batches of flowers from the LA Flower District? Do I just go in the day before and grab what ever flower I want or should I meet with certain floral shops in the facility to order in advance.
Please provide answers, thanks.

Reply:Just go into the Flower Market during public hours. Public hours are 6 am to noon Tuesday, thursday, Saturday or 8am to noon M,W,F. You'll have to pay the entrance fee (a whooping $1 on Saturdays or $2 any other day) and they'll stamp your hand and give you a sticker to wear to show that you paid.
Then you just wander around a purchase between the 2 warehouse buildings.
Two (okay 3) words of warning though:
-Shop around for prices before handing over money.
-Most places only take cash, so you need to have it on you, or there are ATMs
-Go early! Some places pack up around 9 or 9:30 so it is to your benefit to roll out of bed and put on your lazy day clothes to get down there.

How can i dry a rose to save it forever without losing its color?
my grandmother just passed away..and i took two roses from the flower arrangements that we bought her. i would like to save them. i know that if you hang them upside down and let them dry, but it doesnt keep the color. any suggestions??
How can i dry a rose to save it forever without losing its color?
I've never done this at home before, but at work I've done it for other people. You can cover the rose in wax. Go to Hobby Lobby or the local craft store and buy plain clear wax, and heat proof container deep enough that the rose will fit inside. Heat the wax until it is liquid, then slowly and carefully holding the rose upside down dip it into the wax and pull it back out in one swift motion. The wax is hot, but shouldn't damage your hand. Wipe the drippings off with your fingers and do again for a gran total of 3 times! You should still be able to see the natural color through the wax. You may need to remove all the leaf's before, if they get broken later it can cause issues.
Good Luck,
Sorry to hear about your Grandma.
Reply:Sorry to hear about your Grandmother:(, Go to a craft store, they should have some stuff there. I used some silicone beads from a craft store once and they dried the roses really well. Although it doesn't matter how you dry them the color will always turn a little. I used the beads to dry flowers when my kids were born and they are still beautiful today(kids and flowers lol )that was 34 and 29 years ago.
Reply:place it in some silica gel this drys the flower out in a short time

go look at craftster.org... they have a ton of idea of what to craft. I don't know what you're into..... Fiber arts, ceramics, bookmaking, knitting? Baby stuff, and wedding stuff crafts of some sort. Those always get top dollar... handmade invitations for baby showers or weddings. People get crazy over babies and weddings and don't care what they spend.
Reply:I make hair bows and I love it!!! It started out as a hobby, now I sell them.

Reply:I used to make these myself and found them very useful yet very easy to make.: the wonders of the BOOKMARK...:). Actually it is quite easy, any materials found at home, Michael's (it is a craft store), and any other place where they might sell crafting stuff. You can also sell handmade scrapbooking materials, either using items printed (digitally made: you may use photoshop) or materials such as foam, decorated beads (decorated by you!:)), and such. It would also be nice to sell cut-outs of paper dolls, and you can sell them for those little girls you absolutely love dolls. You can make clothes for the dolls as well. The best part is, The can simply be made out of paper. My last suggestion would to make stamps, they are often used for scrapbooking, art projects, ect. They may be a little costly but they are worth it. You can buy all that stuff at your local crafting store:)
HAPPY CRAFTING :)

Are camelias in season during the month of August?
I am planning my flower arrangements for my wedding in August and I like the camelia as a flower
Are camelias in season during the month of August?
We grow camellias in our garden. They are available during winter and into early spring (November thru April here in California). They're beautiful flowers but exceptionally hard to arrange in vases as the stems tend to be twiggy and too thin to hold them up (the flowers can be quite heavy - they tend to hang down while still unpicked), and the quantity of leaves either hides them or renders the arrangement too bushy.
They are great for floating in a wide flat dish of water and will last well for several days this way.
They should be picked early in the flowering cycle or else the entire flower tends to fall off the stem.
Hope this helps, and have a happy wedding!

What kind of lei is appropriate for a funeral?
My family is originally from Hawaii, but is now settled on the mainland. My aunt just passed away and I wanted to create a lei instead of a regular flower arrangement. I've seen leis at other funerals, but I don't know which flowers/types are appropriate. I'd hate to give something that represents 'long life and happiness' to someone who is now deceased. Anyone know what would work and what wouldn't? Thanks!
What kind of lei is appropriate for a funeral?
What a beutiiful gesture on your part. Sorry about your Aunt and the length of this but it was excelllent reading.
Hala is appreciated at a funeral, or as a gift to someone from Puna. La`i, ti leaf, is always appropriate, as is maile.
Temporary traditional leis were fashioned of natural material
Leis were sewn or weaved with coconut husk, olona, banana or hau fibers.
Temporary leis now commonly called fresh leis, are a mixture of endemic as well as introduced combinations of flowers, leaves, mosses, blossoming grasses, and vines. Materials common for stringing include: suji, ribbon, lei thread even carpet thread.
kipu`u - knotting.Short vine lengths or leaves with a long stem were knotted together, as seen with the maile lei or kukui leaf
hili - plaiting or braiding. Used only when braiding one material, seen in the modern ti leaf leis and maile lei
haku - braiding "somewhat", with a central binding cord and mixture of flower, leaf and/or fern. The term haku is loosely used for the head lei.
wili - winding similar to the haku with no knots till the very end.
humu papa - sewing to a foundation. The traditional head lei, or as in feather leis.
kui - stringing,
kui pololei - stringing through the center of the flower or shell. Remember puka shells?
kui poepoe - stringing through stem or ovary of flower, arranging as in spokes of a wheel. The beautifl double plumeria lei is often strung in this method.
kui lau - stringing flat through stem or ovary of flower, arranging alternating side to side. The intricate cigar flower lei is strung with this method.
The colors and designated emblem to each Island was adopted in 1923 by the Territorial Legislature of Hawai`i. Except for the lokelani rose representing Maui, all are native fauna that are naturally associated with that island. The pupu .
Kaho`olawe - silver gray - hinahina
Maui - pink - damask rose officially lokelani is listed
Moloka`i - silver green - the kukui
Kaua`i - violet - mokihana
Lana`i - orange - kaunoloa
Hawai`i - red - lehua
Ni`ihau - white - pupu shells
O`ahu - yelloe - ilima
Molokini - medium blue - limu kala
Open every pod and fruit to see the seed inside (watermelon is just one).
If it is not poisonous, it can be strung!
Make do with what you have. Standard needle and thread, hey even floss is great!
The old favorites of ,pasta's and noodles; crepe paper and straws. Canna, a favorite for leis is called ali`i poe in Hawaii. A very rare lei, yet a very commonly found seed. The common manila palms; after the red "date" falls to the ground and dries, under a bit of husk is a beautifl nut. The colored nut. The common plant used for hedges, Tiare, makes a wonderful lei. Papaya flowers and pansies, baby's breath and boston fern make an awesome head lei.
Take them as hostess gifts, and to give to the departed at funerals. .

Does anyone have any great theme ideas for my living room?
I need a change! I have doorway beads up and funky things hanging, dried flower arrangements, but it's still a dark room, regardless of big picture windows! I need decorative help! Color schemes? Any ideas are more than welcome :) thanks!
Does anyone have any great theme ideas for my living room?
As our tastes change, so do trends in decorating. It may still be best for you, and more practical to go with what YOU enjoy.
Any answers here may be the right answer, but CHOICE is up to you.
Brighter colors, in shades you most enjoy, textures that vary, faux finishes, sheers or verticals on the windows rather than drapes, better, or more adequate lighting.
Pastels work well, and can be mixed in varying shades without being offensive or clash too severely.
The 3 walls one and the 4th wall another color is a good suggestion.
Don't over-do in anything. Keep the room simple enough to be comfortable. That said,,,certainly you could have a wall of books,,IE: Library style, an aquarium, move or change the furnishings so that at some point you are actually looking out the windows.
If you're going to spend a majority of your time there, the room should be a calm place, an inviting place, though it need not be old timey cozy.
In the end, sugegsting colors to you:
Go to a home store, paint store, check out decorationg mags,,, even at a grocery market for ideas that are current, or traditional. Your choices will depend on what is already in your frame of referrence as to what you most enjoy.

Reply:Try painting with a lighter shade. Put up some nice crown molding.
Reply:Paint tip - Choose a color u like the most, and try to choose a cool color.. then, choose a lighter shade and a slight darker shade of the same color and get 3 walls painted with the lighter one and the 4th wall with the darker one.
Decoratives - hang lots of wind-chimes of the roof whr u hv a subsequent amount of vantilation.
Also, try to get the li'll LEDs/tiny bulbs emitting silver/white light and stick 'em up the roof high enough.
In the night when u shut all the lights off and turn on just these.. u'll be amazed how it makes u feel under a completely star-studded sky but still comfortable, cozy and safe enough in your room!
Finally... name it "ThemeHome".
That's exactly the home and rooms I have. And I LOOOOVVVEEEE it!
Cheers!

Where can I buy acrylic water in Australia?
I have bought some glass vases and would like to make up silk flower arrangements in acrylic water.
Where can I buy acrylic water in Australia?
That stuff is really popular in China when they manufacture faux floral items for export. I would go to an art supply store and ask the employees there

Is the ottoman taking the place of the original coffee table?
I'm in the process of puchasing a new living room suit, I like the sectionals, but every display I see, has a ottoman instead of a coffe table. I like it, but what kind of items do I put on there(books, ash trays, flower arrangements etc.), because what do a person do with their coffe cups, cocktail or drinking glasses?
Is the ottoman taking the place of the original coffee table?
I work in a Contemporary Interior Design store and no they're not replacing them. They are optional. They do make ottomans that have reversible hard surfaces. The top is cushion for a foot rest and when you flip it over it has a tray (with for sides). Some of these ottomans are chests as well, so they are really a good buy, with three purposes. Most people purchase sectionals with ottomans %26amp; end tables. You can get the sectional and skip the ottomans and get a coffee table instead or yes, if the ottoman is big enough get trays.
Reply:I'm not a fan of ottomans for anything except putting up your feet.
An upholstered or leather surface used otherwise is bound to get stained; it's just not the most stable place to put drinks and such.
Plus--when you substitute an ottoman for a cocktail/coffee table, you lose the great texture and interest that wood accent furniture gives to contrast with the upholstered sectional.
If you don't don't replace your furniture very often, then it's better to stay away from a trend that will leave your room looking dated in a couple of years. I'd go with wood or even wrought iron/glass...something classic and durable.
Reply:The displays show an ottoman to keep it simple and uncluttered, because they have to fit all parts of the sectional into one picture. Some people do use an ottoman with a large tray on top, but for most people it really isn't practical. I hate being at someone's house an not having a surface to put my glass or coffee cup on, and I don't want to be worrying about spilling.
An ottoman is still good for putting your feet up!
Reply:Don't drink in the living room.
Reply:I must have misunderstood. In my time, an ottoman was a foot rest. How can a foot rest take the place of a coffee table? They are two entirely different pieces, with very different uses.
Reply:A lot of them open up...but that is so tacky...stay with a coffee table....really....unless yo uare planning to add shag carpet too.
Cheers in your decorating!!!!!!!
Reply:you can use the ottoman as an extra seat, if you need a place for a Glass, a mug or anything you can always buy an extra coffee-table or end-tables, also a lot of sectionals have the optional fold down backrest with built in cup-holders. Check it out at a furniture store.
Reply:What do you want you or your guests to place there? Are you serving something? Ottoman with a serving tray.....fits right in with your question. What is the focus of the room you are furnishing and who will you invite into this room? Think about why any building is built. Purpose/Function...then fit it into your budget.

What Is the Most Caring Thing Your Cat Ever Did For You?
When I had eye surgery, my cat sat on the floor by my bed at home, next to the flower arrangements, so I would see her at all times and know she was there for me.
How about you?
What Is the Most Caring Thing Your Cat Ever Did For You?
My Dixie was just a baby when I saw this horrible spider in the bedroom floor. I was terrified and at home alone with my cats so I started calling "kitty, kitty" hoping my big mouser girl Shasta would come save me. She never came but baby Dixie came running, saw the spider, and played with it to death. She saved me! She died last week and I'm smiling and crying at the same time. Thanks for letting me relive that memory of her. I loved her so much. Your kitty sounds like a darling. Love her much- you can't guarantee tomorrow. ♥
Reply:I lived with my grandparents for a while when I was in college, to help them out around the house and whatnot. After my grandpa passed away Molly (my cat) began spending more time with my Nana. I moved away, but left Molly with my Nana and her other little dog, for more company, but shortly after that the dog died of heart failure (she was an old lady as well).
Then it was just Molly and my Nana, and for the 2 remaining years of Molly's life she was never far from my grandmother's side. She would wait at the door when Nana went out, and never spent a moment away from her when she was home. Having an animal to take care of after Grandad and the dog passed was the best therapy for my Nana, it gave her support and comfort and company during her lonely times.

When there is one outside 2 of my cats sit at the window and 'huff up' and their fur stands up, warning me (I like to think) not to go outside because something scary is out there.
Then there is my elderly neighbor who had a dog for many years. The dog was getting too old to get around and the end was near. My neighbor, who is 82, always said "when the dog goes, so am I". Well, he had to put the dog down, but right before that a stray cat 'adopted' him. He took in the cat (his 1st cat at 82!) and fell in love with her. He put the dog down, but he had the cat to care for and keep him company, and he made it though the dog passing. The cat "magically" appeared at a time when she was really needed. And is still there giving him something to care about.

It's cute, but the whiskers do wake me up. But how can you get upset with a cat who cares so much. Now, that's what a call a caring cat. My other cat however has no knowlege of what is going on, she is a true cat. Ignores everything but her food bowl.

Eventually we took her to the vet and she got back to normal, she would hiss at my husband and run to me. If I lay down or sit down she wants to lay on me and she wants to lay in my arms like a baby! One time for like a week straight she was crying at me for no reason. It was kind of annoying but all she wanted me to do was lay in bed with her and hug her all day long. If I would get up from bed she would follow me and cry until I'd lay down with her again. It was kind of annoying but it was the sweetest thing ever. And she loves to put her paw on my face whenever she is near my face. She also cries when I come home from work so I can pick her up and kiss her. She also loves to leave dead lizzards next to my bed for me. My husband plays with me and if I start saying "ow" or "stop" my cat will come and start meowing at my husband, I guess she's trying to say "leave mommy alone!" What Is the Most Caring Thing Your Cat Ever Did For You?
How do I dry sunflowers to use in a wreath?
I am growing sunflowers and would like to use them in flower arrangements, but specifically in a wreath. How do I dry them to keep their color, shape, etc.
Last year I tryed to dry them by cutting them off the stem and setting them in a shallow box in a warm climate. They molded.
How do I dry sunflowers to use in a wreath?
cut
hang them upside down
spray with hairspray thoroughly
Reply:You might try setting them in a desiccant such as silica to dry. It takes awhile but is least likely to cause petal loss.
For seeds I hang my sunflower heads upside down in a dry place with good airflow.
I have also heard of places that will freeze-dry flowers for you. Not sure it would be worth it unless it was a bridal bouquet or you had a group-rate. To try this at home, fill an ice chest 1/2 way with dry ice. Set one sunflower head in a metal mixing bowl large enough to contain it. Close lid and wait. I have not tested this, but think 1/2 hour might be a good place to start. After freezing spray liberally with hair spray and hang upside down in a well-ventilated area free from moisture and humidity for one week. You might need to spray metal bowl with Pam first to avoid sticking.
Here is a site that tells how to dry flowers and protect them afterwards:

Reply:hang them up side down from a ceiling but not in the kitchen where there is humidity . they make not keep all there brightness but they will work . don't keep them in water once picked as they will soak it all up and take longer to dry and might go mouldy .
this is the perfect weather to be drying flowers . good luck

How do you preserve flowers?
have fresh flower arrangement from a wedding and want to save them
How do you preserve flowers?
The best way I have found to preserve flowers is with Silica Gel. You can find it at your local craft store. Its fairly simple and does a good job with most flowers. Its a powder that removes the moisture from the flowers. There is even a type that you can microwave to make the drying process faster.
I have also found that drying/preserving the flowers individually then reassembling the bouquet or arrangement is easiest.

Black and White flower arrangements?
They seem to be impossible to find online; I want to find a reliable site so I can send a good friend an arrangement of black and white roses.
I've looked all over and found nothing... Note that she lives on the other side of the US and I'm having trouble finding a site that will cater to that. She also lives in a very tiny town. Help! :(
Black and White flower arrangements?
i have no clue
Reply:Have you tried FTD?
Your local florist can give you some good advise in this area.
If all else fails have you thought of silk floral arrangements? They last forever. To make it more interesting the make up roses using colored feathers. Just shake them once in awhile. It is very different and I myself received some from a friend and I continually enjoy them.
Reply:just go to your local floral shop and have them take your order, most likely they will belong to FTD or Teleflora, and can send an order anywhere in the US, for like $5 extra, or you could look up floral shops in the area, call them directly, and save the $5. Just tell them that you want the arrangement in black and white and they will be able to figure something out. you can either have all white roses tipped black or get a mix of black and white roses. they make special dyes and paints just for flowers, so you can get the roses painted black and still get the same effect. Don't worry, this is a simple order, and there should be no problem sending it, you just might have to pay a little extra.

Any ideas for a nice arrangement for a table at Christmas, with flowers.?
If it is a long table use several lanterns - set them intermittent with holiday flowers or bowls with shiny ball ornaments. You could also use lanterns and small Christmas tree shaped rosemary plants. Decorate them in classic trim. There are a lot of web sites you can check out - martha stewart.com, sandra lee semi home made, better homes and garden etc.
If it is a round table how about a large glass bowl, with holiday potpourri or holiday tree clippings and a large pillar candle in the center. You can also fill the bowl with whole cranberries and then put a white candle in the middle - add a little crystal glitter to cranberries for some glam. There is also this great stuff you can get in the garden dept at home depot - its supposed to retain water in potted plants but you can hydrate it, mix in some colored glass marbles (or food coloring) and then add the candle to the middle, looks beautiful. when you are done with it you can mix it in with you potted plant soil - it is also a great medium for floral arrangements - keeps stems where you placed them.

Poinsettias and pine cones....add some of that white puffy paint to the pine cones and then glue little tiny clear crystals onto them.... I would add about a dozen crystal votives with candles running down the center.. and then curl deep burgandy, green etc ribbons down the center.

Fresh floral arrangement: Gel instead of water?
I am making the floral arrangements/centerpieces for an upcoming party. I plan on using fresh flowers, but I'd like to place them in a gel rather than water. The reason is that I would like to place gold leaf in the gel so it will catch the candlelight and create a wonderful shimmer effect. After some Googling, all I can find is a gel for artificial or dried flowers. Any suggestions?

Reply:Check out the following sites, the first one is cubes of gel to use as flower support and the second is actual gel to keep the flowers as fresh as possible. Each has possibilities!

Where can i get an arrangement of hibiscus flowers?
hibiscus can be cut from bushes, they are typically not available in the flower markets as a cut flower. It is too cold for any to be blooming naturally, if you do find some when they are in bloom, they have woody stems, so cut them and crack the stems with a hammer to draw water better.
Where can i get an arrangement of hibiscus flowers?
You probably won't unless you make advance arrangements with a very accomplished and well connected florist. The blooms are only open for one day, two at most. The plants are readily available in the spring and are the usual way to go.

How much should i charge for these photos?
Hi,
I'm taking photos of flower arrangements for a local florist and i was wondering how much i should charge them for it.
I have an 8mp D-SLR and some lighting which i take into their shop, I'll also be getting a softbox within the next 2 weeks.
The florist wants to make a catalog (i believe just a printed photo album) of their arrangements so that customers can come in and choose a style or arrangements that they like etc.
I have a few photos from my first shoot on the link below.
http://myonlinefiles.net/users/portfolio...
I'll be adding a few more photos to this gallery as i get some more work from them (tomorrow and next sat).
They would be getting the photos on CD.
I'm thinking of charging per photo outcome. i.e. I take as many as i think i need, then choose the best 1-2 of each arrangement and photoshop them (background, colours etc.).
What do you guys think?
How much should i charge for these photos?
I would definately think about how much time each good shot really takes, or should take. Honestly you should come up with a reasonable hourly rate for what they want, estimate how long you should take for all of it, and call that a flat fee.
example: you take 200 shots over 5 hours (this is hypothetical), but you wind up only using 20 of them. You spend 2 hours in photoshop. Setting up and tearing down would take an hour. So if you round up for the 20 pics to an hour you are at 4 hours, even though you spent 6 there and 2 in post porduction. Consider the rest as learning time.
4 hours time $30 would be $120
times $60 would be $240 and so on.
If however you dont have many you dont use you would charge more.

Can you tell me how to tie a bow for a present?
I need to know how to tie a bow for a flower arrangement it will be a present when finished.
Can you tell me how to tie a bow for a present?
Here is a tutorial with pictures.
http://www.craftown.com/instruction/bows...
Reply:loop a ribbon in a oval pattern around and around several times. Make it as big as you need the bow to be. Make sure you leave a little hanging off the end to cut at an angle for looks. Tie a piece of the ribbon directly in the middle of the loop. Now you will have the shape of an eight. Gently pull apart the ribbon on either side of the tie and arrange to look like a bow. You could use a pick with a piece of wire to attach the ribbon to your arrangement OR tie it on with another piece of the same ribbon.

How do I preserve cut bullrushes?
bullrushes (typha sp.) explode and release their seeds. I want to use these bullrushes in a flower arrangement and need to know how to prevent them from releasing seed.
How do I preserve cut bullrushes?
They actually preserve themselves. Cut them and let them dry
naturally in a vase. After they are dry I spray them with hairspray
so far it has worked fine. But use cheap hairspray.
Reply:I spray them with a good dose of hairspray.

There a lot at the different dollar stores, but I found the best ones at Wal-Mart with many different colours and really look real. Also Michael's has a lot of many different varieties and colours.

Starting pussy willows in floral foam? Anyone heard of or tried that?
I recieved a flower arrangement with pussy willows in it a couple of weeks ago.
After the flowers died, I went to throw out the arrangement and the pussywillows had sprouted leaves!
When I pulled the branches from the foam, there were small white roots running through the foam.
My question is, if I tried to do this ON PURPOSE next year, would it work again, and what would I need to add to the water that the foam block is soaked in?
Starting pussy willows in floral foam? Anyone heard of or tried that?
You can simply start pussy willows in a jar of water. Just let them sit there until they sprout(give fresh water every few days) then plant them in some potting soil in a container. They sprout easily.
I wouldn't leave them in the foam.
I have a huge pussy willow tree and I put some in a vase with just water in they all sprouted.
You can dry pussy willlows out and they are good in dry arrangements.
Reply:Pussy willows can just be placed in water and they will root. It is one of the easier plants to root. They are ready for planting when roots reach a couple of inches long. I rooted a few this spring, stuck them in the ground, haven't had to tend to them since. They are extremely easy to grow and you can cut them back each season if you like and they will return more full each year.

Will there be flower arrangements in the in the room of first night of marriage as they show in movies?
If it's a classy hotel, and they know in advance that it's your honeymoon, they might provide it.
Otherwise, you could just order some.

I didn't see any. But we didn't order them either.
Reply:if you have it arranged
Reply:the only flower he will want is yours
Reply:If you tell the place of lodging it is your wedding night when you make reservations. If they don't provide free, tell them you'll pay.
Reply:No not normally. Now if your Hubby or someone else puts them there, then yes. If not your lucky to get some "bubbly" and strawberry's.
Reply:What country are you in? What are you talking about, actual flowers or, or, you know....
Reply:Only if you or your husband put them there
Reply:Only if you husband arranges it for you or if you purchase some sort of honeymoon vacation or suite where it will generally be provided, probably with champagne/wine and/or a fruit basket.

Seen floral arrangements w/real fruit in vase. is there a preservative used for this?
I've seen lovely flower arrangements with real fruit in the glass vase. How do you preserve the fruit that is covered with water? In particular I saw one with lemon slices in water and yellow roses in the vase.

I've seen those in our lobby but they never last long. Maybe they just go bad and there is no secret. Try nice looking plastic fruit?
Reply:H2O is the preservative, Im sure the dissolved oxygen levels in the water are very small, and oxygen is what what starts breaking them down. They dont last very long though.
Cheers!

What flower (or flowers) goes well with calla lilies?
I am in the beginning stages of planning my wedding. I know FOR SURE that I want my bouquet to be calla lilies. I would also this to flow throughout my entire bridal party… bridesmaids, groom, groomsmen, parents, etc. and reception… table arrangements and so on. But I think it would be a little blah to have JUST calla lilies. The problem is what goes with the simple elegance of a calla lily? My wedding is going to have that feel- simple elegance. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Also if you have links to pictures of table arrangements and such that include calla lilies and another flower I would love that as well! Thanks!
What flower (or flowers) goes well with calla lilies?
What about just adding some roses. Or something that hangs like lilacs or purple statice depending on what your accent color is.
Or you could have a bouquet of different colored one on each table. All red at one table, orange, yellow, etc. It would add color without loosing the elegance.
There are a couple examples here:

http://www.stylishstems.com/id30.html

Beautiful flowers!
Reply:My daughter chose calla lilies for her bouquet. Just a simple arrangement. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of miniature calla lilies and the boutonniers were miniature calla lilies. It was all lovely. I personally don't like mixing other flowers with calla lilies because they are so elegant and make a tasteful, but bold, statement on their own. For centerpieces, you can try an entirely different, though equally dramatic flower -- white orchids. Just a few in a tall vase are beautiful, very different, and not as costly as you might think.
Reply:Wow, there are so many options when it comes to calla lilies. I'm advise you to take a look around the Internet to get some ideas of what you really like, and/or talk to your florist for more ideas and pictures (they should have thousands of pictures for you to look at). Here are my suggestions:
1. Calla lilies, roses, and some other filler such as stock, queen anne's lace, freesia (a very nice, good smelling wedding flower) You can see some flower types off of www.sierraflowerfinder.com
2. Calla lilies alone look fabulous with some leaf detailing. Use apidistra leaves for that bold sophisticated look.
3. Calla lilies look great with tulips. They look better together then with roses. Perhaps you can have the guys where tulip boutonnieres. Tall calla lilies for the reception arrangments would look very elegant.
Try looking for place like theknot.com or weddingchannel.com for some more photos. If you go to google.com and type in "wedding flowers". You're sure to find many ideas. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
Reply:How about another tropical flower like proteas or cymbidian (I'm not sure of the spelling.) orchid? They are quite durable and come in many colors that would be compatible with calla lilies. Or, you may want your bridesmades to wear haku (head) leis with a variety of small colorful flowers.
Reply:I am fond of ivy. I think you might be fine with just a few long trailing greens like that to set off the whiteness.
Reply:Gerber daises and maybe white carnations
Reply:I had Calla Lillies at my wedding and they were beautiful with Roses. I had them flowing throughout my WHOLE wedding party, on tables, ect... Since they were white and my girls dresses where a royal blue, of course, I had red roses. I hope this helps....I think they are the most beautiful flower out there...Just in my opnion..:)

How can I store my silk flowers without crushing them?
I am beginning to make flower arrangements and need a safe way to store the flowers that aren't yet in arrangements so they won't get crushed. Some flowers will snap back but some won't, I don't want to find out if mine will or not as some of them are a little expensive. I currently have them loosley stored in stacked boxes inside a small walk-in closet. I would like a way I can store them upright where I can see them and not have them all smushed together. Thanks!
How can I store my silk flowers without crushing them?
what about the way they are displayed in the stores, Make a chicken wire screen column and stick them in it . That way you can organize them by color and size.
Reply:i would stick them in paper towel rolls or something like that.
Reply:My mother used to hang them upside down as well as store upright. Depending on the size, she would either stuff the stems into florist's foam or clay that she had mounted onto cardboard or hangers coat hangers. Larger ones she would hang from clothes pegs. She would glue snap-close pegs on boards that ran floor to ceiling, placing the pegs so the zig zagged on the boards in order to place more flowers. Some smaller bunches of flowers she would protect with a thin, inexpensive shower cap (that she collected from hotels). To store them upright, the florist's foam or clay works, and then cover them with one of those clear plastic zippered containers/bags that bedding/blankets/comforters usually comes in, with the zipper on top for easy access.
Reply:String them up. Run a wire or cord across the run and hang the flowers upside down on the line. They will be easy to see and stay in shape.

Where do I learn how to design floral arrangements?
I'd like to go to work in a flower shop and I have some natural talent for flower arrangements but I'd like to learn other thinks like doing funeral arrangements and other stuff. Where can I go to learn how to do flower arrangements like they would do in a flower shop?
Where do I learn how to design floral arrangements?
Have you considered checking with a local Florist for info, or perhaps to work as an unpaid intern with one?
Reply:It just depends on where you live. You might check with community colleges in the area. Ours offers those classes for fun sometimes in the summer. Also, you might check in the newspaper once in awhile or even ask flowershops.
Reply:Some Greenhouses and Floral shops will offer training, also ITT will offer classes thru floral shops.
Natural ability is half the battle, working with live flowers is totally different that silks, plus they will teach you to arrange on a numerical pattern, which I don't like...
Reply:Go to your local community college. They have affordable classes on many such topics.

I would like to sell flowers, silk arrangement for cemetery?
I design silk flowers for the cemeterty all holdays, I am having a hard time selling them in my town, what im i doing wrong.would i have a better chance selling on the internet.
I would like to sell flowers, silk arrangement for cemetery?
well the internet will reach many more people than just asking around town. I personally would not try to pitch selling flowers for cemetry's .You prolly wont get the best reaction from people.
just sell your flowers as flowers dont pitch them as funeral flowers. Flowers can sell themselves
also try ebay. theres a market for everything.
also if you have a like a bar district go to the restraunts in the evening on the weekends and try to sell flowers to couples having dinner. after a few drinks people will be more interested in buying flowers for their date.

Should we send flowers during the viewing or the funeral?
We are attending a viewing on Thursday and the funeral on Saturday. When would it be more appropriate to send flowers? Since the viewing is two days away, will the flower arrangement wilt before the funeral?
Should we send flowers during the viewing or the funeral?
I've been told the number of flowers sent will be an indication of the turnout on the funeral. Send them early for the viewing or as they say here down south, the wake.
The flowers will be on display for the viewing/wake and the funeral as well.
A lot of flowers sent are potted plants of some type are not cut flowers. The family may order sprays for the funeral which would arrive the day before possibly.
Reply:Typically sent to the funeral home for viewing unless the family requests donations sent to an org. in lieu of flowers.
Reply:Thursday, the day of the viewing.
Reply:It may depend on the religious faith/church conducting the burial ceremony for the late. Some prefer flowers during the viewing while others prefer at the funeral. Since the funeral is close, just trust your instincts to guide you.
Reply:No the flowers will not wilt. The florist knows how to keep them fresh. Let them know it is a 3-day service when you order. Send them asap.
Reply:Have the flowers delivered to the Funeral Home on Thursday before the viewing begins.
Reply:send it for thursday it should be fine till saturday if the arrangement was made on thursday but your florist will know more. you can also water it if you get there really early on saturday. The furneral director may also do this for you.
Reply:Flowers should be sent to the viewing. The flowers will be fine by the funeral. We had flowers from my grandfather's funeral around for a long time afterwards. In fact, we still have some plants from there *he passed in october*
Reply:I think it's better to send the flowers in time for the funeral itself so the arrangement is fresh when it is taken to the graveside or given to family members to take home.
Reply:I would send the flowers to the viewing. They should last. If you have further concern about this, consult with the florist.
Reply:I've never been to a viewing so the sending flower's to the funeral will be fine. When my grandparents died. At each funeral (there was no viewing) people would send flower's to the funeral.
Reply:Send them to the viewing. On the day of the funeral, the family most likely won't even see them. When my mom died, they only took a few of the arrangements to the burial and the rest we elected to have them sent to area nursing homes. We did see the ones at the viewing, though.

Question about flower arrangements for pews!?
Are pomanders okay to use for the arragements on the side of the pews going down the center isle of the church, with bows above the pomanders?
Thank you in advance!
Question about flower arrangements for pews!?
I would recommend you cut the pomander in half so that it lies flat against the pew, otherwise it may not sit the way you are picturing it because its round and will be sitting against a flat surface. But yes, thats a perfect type of arrangement for a pew.
Good luck!
Reply:Yes, but make sure they don't stick out too much.
Reply:I hope that I looked at the right picture of what a pomander is when i queried it and if it is the right pic that I looked up then I think they will be fine by themselves. If you add the bow that may be over doing it with it but this is your wedding you should do what you want and if you want the bow above it then go for it. If you can post an example of one so I know for sure we are talking about the same thing.
I will email you personally and let you know once I see the pic.
Reply:SURE IT IS YOUR WEDDING DARLING! YOU NEED TO DECARATE IN ANYWAY YOU THINK IS ACCEPTABLE! SET A LITTLE ARRANGEMENT OF THE FLOWERS AND THEN PUT THEM ON A FEW PEWS AND TAKE A LOOK THAT WAY YOU WILL HAVE A PERSONAL VIEW TO SHOW YOU THE WAY IT WILL LOOK ON THAT DAY!!
Thank you in advance!

Cheapest pink flower arrangements?
I really need some photos and ideas for some cheap pink flower arangements and boquets for my wedding please~
Cheapest pink flower arrangements?
Look at Proflowers.com. They have great pink carnation or rose wedding packages and the prices are great!
Reply:www.silkflowersandmore.com
Reply:Daisies are really pretty and inexpensive! They come in all different colors of pink. Also, carnations are really pretty and VERY inexpensive!
Reply:Carnation or mums if you aren't willing to go fake.
Actually, if you only use the heads and make a round boquet I've seen them studded with those pearl headed quilter's pins to hold them onto the form (they cheated and used a foam ball rather than trying to hand arrange and it looked really nice. The handle was just a wooden rod inserted into the ball and wrapped with ribbon. I think we made the whole boquet for about $20.
Reply:how much are cherry blossoms?
Reply:Go with flowers that are in season. It gets expensive to have flowers shipped from other countries. Here are some ideas:
Carnations are cheap and available year round. If they are bunched up tight (I think the floral term is pavéed) they look beautiful and you can't tell what kind of flower they are.
Another inexpensive choice is pink dahlias. They are bold and dramatic. They're available spring - fall.
Zinnias are cheap and come in a range of pink colors. They're casual and perky. They're available in the summer months.
Reply:Use carnations - some green ivy - and some babys breath for a filler. Good luck. Cannot send photo but try these out for a quickie idea.

This is one of my favorite bouquets that I tell brides about. It is about 2/3 of the way down on the page on the left and is titled "pink roses to carry"
http://www.atkinsfarms.com/wedfloalbum.h...
You can buy wholesale flowers at many places. Another option is to go to Walmart or Costco. Their roses are $10/dozen. You can special order colors too! I love this bouquet because it is simple, elegant and affordable! Cut the thorns off, add some greens if you want, and wrap it with a silk ribbon. Done!
Good luck.

What kind of sympathy arrangement to send for a female coworker? What type of flowers should I send?
Please send me real answers. These flowers aren't for the funeral, they are going to the mother of the deceased!
What kind of sympathy arrangement to send for a female coworker? What type of flowers should I send?
Personally, I prefer to send a small green plant versus an arrangement of flowers. The plant will last longer, and can be kept in a spot where the recipient will see it.
Talking to a florist can help - there are some lovely plants out there, and they can add one or two cut flowers for some color, if you like.
Reply:I would send something cheery and small. Like a "thinking of you" or "condolences" arrangement. Call FTD flowers, proflowers (online), etc. and see what they have. Stick within your budget and don't forget to send your sincerest condolences on the card.
Reply:Try 1-800 flowers...www.1800flowers.com....you will see a section for condolences. Try a nice plant that will last so much longer than flowers...or go for a nice basket of daises.
Reply:It is proper and elegant that sympathy flowers are white and green. White lillies for example.
They can be red and white also, but more for funerals.
Reply:A simple vase of yellow roses is thoughtful....see the arrangement at this link:
http://www.monroecountyflowers.com/catal...
Reply:A plant that will not die in a pretty container...
Reply:If the person is a co-worker( not necessarily friend)Send a
mixed planter(a container holding a variety of tropical and flowering plants) It makes a nice living remembrance.

Where in houston can I find wholesale flower containers for table arrangements?
I'm not sure about Houston but in Dallas they have the Dallas Market Center.
http://www.dallasmarketcenter.com/dmc/cu...
There are quite a few wholesale floral stores as well as container companies. They have a directory of exhibitors on their site if that doesn't work call the center and they might be able to point you in the right direction.
I order from a wholesale company called Accent Decor
http://www.accentdecor.com/
nice shapes and decent prices they ship all over the US and I'm sure have a sales rep in your area.

How can I preserve a flower?
I have a few flowers from a family members funeral we cut them from the coffin arrangement. how can I keep them forever. i have heard of putting hair spray on them but i know from past experience that doesn't work
How can I preserve a flower?
It will depend on the flower type. Small flowers like pansies, daisies and the like are good for pressing. Get a heavy book, place sheets of white paper on both sides of a page in the book and place the flowers on one piece of paper and close the book carefully. Don't let the flowers touch each other.
Silica Sand can be bought at Michael's Crafts and other craft stores and some hardware stores. You place some of this in the bottom of a plastic shoe box, place your flowers with the heads up, then carefully sprinkle more Sand over the flowers until they are covered. These take awhile to dry, but they come out looking much like they did when alive. Colors will change some, white flowers go kind of creme colored, reds will turn a burgundy color. Wish I knew what type of flowers, as some can be hung from a ceiling upsidedown to air dry.
Best to you and your loved ones.
Reply:I would recomend smashing them in a big book for a couple weeks then sealing them in a big pitcure frame. sorry for your lose
Reply:Pressing them is usually the best method. I suggest putting the flowers in a "zip-lock" plastic bag which contains some silica gel (available at some hobby stores).
The silica will help remove the water so that they will dry faster. If you want to use hair spray on them, wait until they are bone dry.

What kind of sympathy arrangement to send a male?
My boyfriends grandmother passed this morning. She practically raised him after his own mother died so he is taking this pretty hard. I was wanting to send some flowers to the funeral home. I know he would appreciate having an arrangement sent to him. What sort sympathy arrangement would be appropriate for a male?
I don't want to visit a florist. I was hoping to order them online. Any online florist suggestions as well?
What kind of sympathy arrangement to send a male?
You are sweet for wanting to support him. I like proflowers.com - they are pretty inexpensive. You can send them to his house or to the funeral home - personally I think to his house is better, but check the obituary in the newspaper to see if the family has any special instructions.
I don't think there is any arrangment or flower that a man would not appreciate. There's no such thing as 'male' arrangements or 'female' arrangements. Men love all kinds of flowers too!! White roses and white lilies are popular sympathy flowers but anything is great - it's the thought that counts.
I have one more suggestion: Instead of (or in addition to) sending them now, wait two or three weeks and send the flowers then, with an encouraging note. Bereaved families are flooded with sympathy for the first week or two, then everything suddenly drops off to nothing, the flowers die, the cards stop coming, and the shock has worn off - this is when people need help and sympathy the most, in my opinion.
Reply:I'm sure that anything at all will be appreciated, but for men, I tend to order a plant. Almost every online florist has a selection of plants in their "Sympathy" section. They aren't quite so "girly" and they make a lovely living tribute to a beloved relative.
If possible, find a florist that is local to the funeral and order from there. Most of them have websites and allow you to order online nowadays. My family and I have had very good luck with this method, especially when we are sending flowers to an out-of-state funeral.
Reply:Try sending him an arrangement that you made yourself, with cheese and crackers and canned meats. Throw in a loaf of bread and wrap it in a blue bow. They probably need the food, anyways, having friends and family over that need food. Food is expensive. Food donations like that, can really save a family during such a tough time, and anyways men love food.
You can also make him a nice casserole or something, as well, but its hard to send those or order them online. There are catering services, so if you want you can order him a couple of meals through one.

What about a mixed range of flowers, or carnations, roses, maybe a peace lilly ect sorry im unsure as to what country/state your in so maybe try go through www.google.com.au %26amp; just type in florists. All the best hope everything works out %26amp; I'm truly sorry to hear.
Reply:A simple, tasteful floral arrangement. When my dad died we were sent several plants. It gave me the chills everytime I saw them because they reminded me of his death. The good thing about flowers is you don't feel guilty about throwing them away when they are beyond their prime.
Reply:Go simple...maybe a peace lilly or something like that. Since male if you get an entricate boquette, it may be lost if he does not care about flowers. A simple arrangement says you care but you are not spending alot of money on something that is not going to get full appreciation.
Reply:It's OK to send either mums or lilies.
Go see him at the funeral home too if at all possible.
It's times like this that friends are needed the most.
Reply:a nice mixed planter would be very nice. you can get one for anywhere from $25 up, it could be sent to the funberal home with a note on the back of the card that that particular item be reserved for him, you could also get some cut flowers placed in it.
another suggestion i saw was a blooming plant that could be planted outside, such as a mum plant, but a planter has several different varities of plants, and eventually could be seperated into however many different plants there are, and placed in different rooms of the house.
Reply:Try flowers.com. Do a search for sympathy or something to that extent. Call them if you don't see anything good online that might fit. Usually talking to someone and telling them exactly what you want is a lot better.

What do you guys think about this type of rose arrangement colors I plan to send to my gf at work?

Adorable! Why can't all boyfriends be that sweet? Make sure the card has something cute and sensitive.
Good Luck!
Reply:Thats cute just make sure you say in the card maybe in a cute poem what the colors mean and the roses symbolize.
Reply:I think it is awesome. The arrangement sounds beautiful and even more beautiful is the thought and effort you have put into it. She's a lucky girl!
Reply:That is like REALLY sweet!

DIY flowers arrangement for wedding in April. Does anyone know where to get good deal wholesale/bulk flowers?
CONGRATS!! You may want to check your local florist and see if they sale wholesale, if not try searching the web for "wholesale flowers" If you type in wedding or bridal the price tends to go way up. We are doing our flowers ourselves (april wedding also) and our local florist does sale wholesale..
DIY flowers arrangement for wedding in April. Does anyone know where to get good deal wholesale/bulk flowers?
COSCO, OR SAMS CLUB. GOOD LUCK.
Reply:If you go with real flowers, I would suggest going through a wholesaler like Costco or Sam's Club. I bought my flowers through them and paid $12.99 per 2 dozen roses. The service was great and the flowers were gorgeous. I picked them up 3 days before the wedding and ordered them medium tight. I had plenty of time to arrange all the centerpieces and bought vases at Michaels for $3 each. For the church, I used pew cones from www.pewcones.com and filled them with the flowers. When I asked a florist how much she would charged for a similar centerpiece, she said $75 each and I spent under $20 each. The knot.com also has some great pictures and ideas. Hope this helps!
Reply:check you paper for fliers from craft stores like Micahels, A.C. Moore, or Joann's. they are inexpensive, and you can get coupons. go with your bridesmaids and some other people and you can each use a coupon and get them for even less!!
Reply:I've heard that Publix has wholesale prices on flowers and they have special wedding pacakes for DIY bouquets.
Reply:If you live near a Hobby Lobby or Michaels, you should be able to find inexpensive silk flowers. Matter of fact, this week (02/05-02/10) Hobby Lobby's silk floral stems and floral bushes are 50% off. That's a really good deal. You can probably spend $5-10 per bridesmaid bouquet--$15-20 on your bouquet, etc. Best wishes!
Reply:try a flea market or go to a store called micheals, they have good bulk flowers also go to the dollare stores they always have good stuff
Reply:Find out if there are any stores in your area for vendors. People who own their own business are the only people who have access to these stores. The prices are cheaper because it is for a business. If you have a store for vendors, chances are you know at least one person who has a vendor's license (I found out I knew about 15!) They can take you in as a guest and they sell their flowers there for alot cheaper than regular craft stores! Good luck!
Reply:Costco or Sam's Club. I bought mine on the Internet from Sam's Club. They were gorgeous. I bought 100 red roses and 500 Gerber daisies. The have a big assortment of flowers and they will deliver when you need them to. It took me and 5 other people 3 hours to make 10 bouquets and 8 corsages. Good luck!

Romantic flower arrangements?
hi, um... i'd like to know if you can think of any romantic flower arrangements to give a girl.
P.S. she's kinda gothic, so nothing too prissy.
thanx
Romantic flower arrangements?
Black and red roses mixed.
Reply:If you could find it (which I doubt...but badass to say the least), black tulips are so unique...but like I said really rare, but a mixture of black and dark red long stem roses would be pretty beautiful
Reply:I do floral arranging . Do you plan to do this your self or what ?
Of course Black Roses or Lillys would be the best choices .
Reply:How about a deep purple rose, not black, even though she is gothic she is a girl....
Reply:3 lillys tied with a black ribbon.
lillys the furneral flower though so being a gothic she might like it
Reply:deep red, almost black, roses
Reply:Red roses has always worked for me. Red signifies blood.
Reply:I am not gothic but I would suggest this because I am a woman... it doesnt matter if your gothic or not if you're a woman you love to receive flowers!!!
I would get her...
* 2 Red Roses because Roses are a for LOVE
* 2 Black Roses because she is in gothic scene
* 1 White Lilly because they are beautiful
* 1 Purple or Pink Lilly to spread the arrangement
%26amp; Lastly * 1 Yellow Flower of any sort (Carnations are
beautiful) - Because yellow is the colour
which means forever!!!
So you make an arrangement that says: %26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt; LOVE, GOTHIC, BEAUTY, AND FOREVER
She will love it !!!
